Rhumbs
Constant bearings between sources, and why they are not roads.
A rhumb is a constant bearing. In the product it is a named link. In the interface it should look like a line on vellum, not a graph node from a startup deck.
Drawing
Keepers create rhumbs. The template shows the grammar on the marketing plate (Instruments). When you build the live editor, prefer a line with a bearing label over a bezier that looks “smart.”
Rules
- A rhumb has two ends that exist as sources.
- A rhumb has a keeper.
- A rhumb may cross another rhumb. Crossing is weather, not an error.
Reading
The Pilot essay Rhumb lines are not highways is part of the product documentation. Link it from your app if you keep the fiction.
