Harbors are agreements

I have kept logs for crews that loved the word alignment and hated the word name. Alignment is fog. A harbor has a name you can shout in a gale.

What must be on the cartouche of a harbor

• The decision, in one sentence a stranger could read.
• The date it was issued.
• The keeper who will still pick up.
• The soundings it rests on (even if they are shallow).

If any of the four is missing, you have a sketch of a pier. Do not send boats.

Silt happens

Harbors silt. That is not scandal. Update the plate. The old issue stays in the log with a line through it, like a crossed-out sounding. Erasing history is how charts become propaganda.

Named seats, not personas

We do not file harbors under “enterprise buyer.” We file them under people. If your team cannot name the person, you are not landing. You are hovering.
